With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Polom, beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us peacefully on March 13, 2026, just three days shy of his 88th birthday.
Born on March 16, 1938, in Fisherville, MI, to Robert M. and Cecilia (Zielinski) Polom, Robert was raised in Pinconning, MI, as one of five children.Throughout his life, Robert exemplified the spirit of a true jack of all trades. He began his career as a farmhand and later spent 20 fulfilling years as a machinist at Baker Perkins in Saginaw, MI. When the plant closed, he took on a new adventure and moved to Indian River, MI, where he became a yard master and fabricator for Wolverine Log Homes.
After retiring, he settled into the log home he built in Wolverine, a testament to his hard work and dedication.Family was always Robert's top priority. He lived life to the fullest and had a deep love for nature, classic country music, and the simple joys of life-campfires were truly his heaven on earth.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie Polom, who stood by him through every step of his journey; children, Howard (Pamela) Polom of Gaylord, Barbara Young of Elk Rapids, Patricia (Fred) Lebeda of Mattawan, Martha (Joseph) Brown of Saginaw, Daniel (Joyce) Polom of Grand Rapids, Anne (Hip) Delgado of Caldwell, ID, Michelle (Bob) Davis of Central Lake, 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister Angie (John) Ivey of Pinconning.He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelli Sue Polom; and siblings, Richard Polom, Joanne Billups, and Alice Laczak.The family is planning a celebration of Bob's life on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Bob's home.Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to Munson Hospice.Rest in peace, Robert. You will be dearly missed but always remembered.
