Robert Leroy Pratt, 75, passed away peacefully in his Gaylord home on Friday, April 26, 2013, surrounded by family. Bob was born in the family home in Frederic, MI on February 16, 1938 to Jess and Bessie (Small) Pratt. He and his 2 brothers and 2 sisters were raise in Frederic in beautiful Northern MI thus beginning his life-long love of the outdoors. Bob was a graduate of Frederic High School and served his country post Korean War as a US Army M.P. Bob worked at Bear Archery in Grayling, and later in life, retired from Total Oil Company. He loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors and western novels.
Preceded in death by his father Jess and sister Betty, Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years Linda (Schultz) Pratt; his mother Bessie of Grayling; his five children, Kevin (Wendy) Pratt, Sonia (Greg) Lake, Shanna Pratt, Aimee Pratt and Tom Pratt. Also surviving are his grandchildren, David, Jarrid (Emily), Collin, Brittney, Courtney, Carson, Anthony, Vivian and Michael; an unborn granddaughter arriving in May, and Colton arriving in July. He is also survived by his siblings, Ben (Donna) Pratt, Bonnie Bindschatel and Brian (Kim) Pratt; his former wife JoAn Becker, mother of his two oldest children, and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Bob’s request no service will be held. A private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Frederic, MI. A celebration of Bob’s life is planned for July of this year.
Donations can be made in his memory to Hospice Advantage or St. Jude’s Children Hospital to honor the love of his children and grandchildren through Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 N. Center Ave. P.O. Box 249, Gaylord, MI 49734.
