It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, and father, Robert Fulton Thomas Jr., 83 of Johannesburg, who peacefully went to be with the Lord, surrounded by the love of his family, at his home on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Born on August 12, 1942, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, Robert was the fourth of five children born to Robert and Gertrude (Warren) Thomas Sr. In 1951, his family relocated to Vienna, Michigan. Robert attended Johannesburg School and graduated in 1961.
As a teenager, Robert started his walk with Jesus at Johannesburg Grace Assembly Church. He accepted Christ at the age of 16 and was baptized in his teens.
Robert started work at Roby’s Wood Products, when he married Carol Corbin on November 3, 1962. With a young baby and wife, they moved to Hollywood where he was a partner of Charles Electronics. Moving back to Michigan, their life was blessed with four children and worked 27 years as a custodian at Johannesburg-Lewiston Area Schools.
Robert had a profound love for life with many interests, collecting, hunting, photography, ceramics, raising chickens, raising fish in the pond and often on his Kabota tractor or golf cart working.
