Rosemarie L. Bogaert

Rosemarie L. Bogaert, 55 of Gaylord, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on January 27, 1965, she was the daughter of John B. and Beverly L. (Shelifoe) Pappas.  The family lived in Hazel Park where Rosemarie graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1983.

On January 26, 1984 she married her high school sweetheart, Gary N. Bogaert.  They lived in Hazel Park until moving to Gaylord in 1993.  They also lived for a few years in Baraga, Michigan, later returning to Gaylord.

Rosemarie’s focus was on her family, though she did work for several years in customer service at a number of glass shops.  She worked with Gary at Affordable Glass Pro in Baraga, a shop they owned and operated.

Rosemarie loved her family and cherished family time.  She was especially devoted to her grandchildren.  A dedicated “wrestling mom” she always followed and supported her children and grandchildren in their sport.  Known as “Sparkles” to her family and friends, she loved her “bling”, anything bright and sparkly.  In her spare time she also enjoyed trips to area casinos.

She is survived by Gary, her husband of 36 years; her children, Nathan Bogaert of Westland, Nicholas Bogaert of Wolverine, Genevieve (Lajuan) Owens of Gaylord, Nevin Bogaert of Wolverine and Ethan (Tiffiny) Bogaert of Gaylord; 13 grandchildren; and her parents John and Beverly Pappas of Hazel Park, though her father, John, passed away one day later, on December 5, 2020.

Also surviving are her siblings, John Pappas II, Cathy (Donald) Bowan, Patricia McClung and her companion Brian, Mary (Brian) Elyas and Cheryl (Frank) Tocco; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is to be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 12, 2020.  Due to current gathering restrictions, the service will be attended by the immediate family only.  Others may join the family by viewing the memorial service live on the Gaylord Community Funeral Home Facebook page.
