Russell Harold Havlatka

Russell Harold Havlatka, 92 of Gaylord, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at home.

Born on October 13, 1929 in Detroit, he was the son of Harold Peter and Helen Emily (Feierabend) Havlatka.

On February 5, 1955 Russell was married in Hazel Park to Phyllis Collins.  After retiring from a long career in the telephone industry, they moved to Gaylord.

Russ enjoyed playing golf, reading, cooking and baking.

He is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 67 years; his children, Tammy (Tom) Lydick of Rochester Hills, Nancy (Paul) Cornell of Salem, NH, Cathy Goldschlager of Los Angeles, CA, Amanda Callahan of Gaylord and Barry (Tikva) Havlatka of Maalot, Israel; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Havlatka and a sister, Gloria Clark.

His family will remember him privately.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan.
