Sandra J. Bohn

Sandra “Sandy” Joann Bohn, 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 7, 2026.

Sandy was born April 2, 1967, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Keith and Janet Lowery and spent her early childhood in Lake George, Indiana. After the loss of her mother at a young age, she moved to Charlotte, Michigan, where she was raised by her father and adopted mother, Valerie Lowery. Sandy graduated from Charlotte High School in 1985, where she was active in choir and softball. She later earned her certification as a travel agent from Southwest Academy in Kissimmee, Florida.

In 1991, Sandy married Andy Bohn, and they made their home in Hessel, Michigan. The births of their daughters, Chelsea and Heather, brought her the greatest joy of her life. She dedicated much of her time to raising her daughters, helping at their schools, and attending school events. Family was deeply important to Sandy, and she treasured both her closest loved ones and her wider circle of extended family and friends.

Sandy loved baking and cooking, especially when she could share those moments in the kitchen with her daughters. Her cinnamon rolls were famous, and she was known to drop by Andy’s workplace with trays of them for the crew. She cherished summers by the water and enjoyed traveling, often visiting family and friends in Arizona. This past spring, she made the trip of a lifetime to Italy to attend Chelsea’s wedding. She also found comfort and companionship in her beloved dog, Tiller.

She is survived by her husband, Andy; daughters Chelsea (Davis) Hall and Heather Bohn; mother Valerie Lowery; siblings Keith Lowery Jr., Terri (Ken) Brace, Cindy (Bob) Brown, and Rick Davis; mother-in-law Nancy Need; brothers- and sisters-in-law Anita (Glenn) Bedinghaus, Kate (Scott) Skowronek, and Jason (Kim) DeRosia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother Janet Lowery, father Keith Lowery Sr., sister Melissa Lowery, and father-in-law William Need.

A Celebration of Life will be held July 10, 2026. Details will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bay Cliff Health Camp, PO Box 310, Big Bay, Michigan 49808 which was very important to Sandy and her family.
