Sandra Joann Bohn, 58 of Hessel, MI passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 7, 2026. Sandy was born in Royal Oak, MI April 2, 1967, to Keith and Janet Lowery. She spent her early years growing up in Lake George, IN. Upon the untimely passing of her mother at age 9, she moved to Charlotte, Michigan to live with her father and mother Valerie Lowery who adopted her. Sandy always considered Valerie her true mother. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1985 where she was active in choir and softball. Following high school she attended Southeastern Academy in Kissimmee, Florida where she became a certified travel agent.
She married Andy Bohn in 1991 and they moved to Hessel shortly afterward. The births of their children, Chelsea and Heather brought her great joy. She dedicated much of her time to raising her daughters, helping at their schools and attending school events. Family was deeply important to Sandy; she treasured her closest loved ones as well as her wider circle of extended family. Sandy enjoyed traveling and often went to Arizona to visit family and friends. This past spring, she made a trip of a lifetime to Italy to attend her daughter Chelsea's wedding.
A long-time resident of Hessel, Sandy worked for many years in the bakery at Cedarville Foods and loved to cook. She was known to drop by Andy's workplace with food or her famous cinnamon rolls for the crew! In addition, she worked in hospitality at various times throughout her career. Most recently she was a bartender and server at Snows Bar in Cedarville, MI until a mounting disability caused her to retire early.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Andy; daughters, Chelsea (Davis) Hall and Heather Bohn; mother ,Valerie Lowery; brothers and sisters, Keith Lowery Jr., Terri (Ken) Brace, Cindy (Bob) Brown, Rick Davis; mother-in-law, Nancy Need, brothers and sisters-in-law, Anita (Glenn) Bedinghaus, Kate (Scott) Skowronek, Jason (Kim) DeRosia; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her birth mother Janet Lowery, her father Keith Lowery Sr, sister Melissa Lowery, and father-in-law William Need.
A Celebration of Life is planned for July 10, 2026. Additional details will be provided once known.
