Sharon A. Bearup

Sharon Ann Bearup, 80 of Walloon Lake, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Sharon was born on July 25,1945 in Petoskey, Michigan. She was the daughter of Willard and Winifred (Gregory) Biallas. She attended Petoskey High School. On March 31, 1962, Sharon married Ivan Dewitt Bearup.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games and cooking and baking for her friends and family.

Sharon is survived by two brothers, Willard (Sally) Biallas of Petoskey, and Robert (Brenda) Biallas of Wisconsin; two daughters, Nancy (Ken) Nothstein of Florida, and Patsy Penland of Clarion; a son, Michael (Jess) Bearup of Kentucky; two grandsons, Corey May of Harbor Springs and Trevor Simon of Clarion; and her great granddaughter, Kathryn May.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Bearup; her parents Willard and Winifred Biallas; and son-in-law, Leon Penland.

Sharon’s family has chosen to remember her privately. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospice.
