Sharon Lee Wilson

Sharon Lee Wilson, 63 of Johannesburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at home. Born on April 7, 1959, in Detroit, she is the daughter of Ralph and Myra (Weinstein) Fox.

On December 26, 1979, in Redford, MI, Sharon married her high school sweetheart, Robert. For many years, she worked at Tendercare as a CNA, then became a Unit Coordinator and then a Social Worker. She loved animals, cooking, camping, playing cribbage and taking care of people. She was known by her family as Mother Teresa of the animal world. She was the family counselor to not only her family but many others. She was known as Mama Sharon to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert; three children, April (Jeffrey) Wilson, Robert Wilson and David (Paula) Wilson all of Gaylord; special grandchildren, Rico, Ciara, Xander, Javion and Logan; her sister, Melissa (Mark Dow) Fox of Cheboygan; two nephews, Erik (Sara) Brown and Jordan Brown and a very special uncle, Max Fox of Johannesburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life gathering will take place from 2:00 to 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at The Gaylord Eagles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Please share your memories and personal messages with the family on her guestbook below.
