In Loving Memory of Susan Reed May 30, 1946 - July 9, 2026

Susan Reed, 80, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2026, exactly as she wished, surrounded by the love of her family and with her beloved dog close by. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, and the deep love she had for those closest to her. Susan was born on May 30, 1946, in Urbana, Ohio, to Jack and Martha Foust. She graduated from Urbana High School before moving to Northern Michigan, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and a love for the beauty of the Northern Michigan countryside. Susan shared 22 years of marriage with her late husband, Lauren Paquet. Together they made their home on the family farm in Bliss, Michigan, where they raised their children and created countless cherished memories. Later in life, she found love again and spent 34 wonderful years with her devoted husband, Michael Reed.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Reed; her children, Nathan Paquet (Erayna), Aaron Paquet (Kimberly), Michael Reed (Krystal), Travis Reed (Jeffrey), and Elisabeth Paquet (Peter); her foster sons, James Maurer and Robert Maurer; and her five treasured grandchildren, Luke Paquet, Caleb Paquet, Emma Paquet, Brynleigh Paquet, and Reed Paquet.

Susan found her greatest happiness on the farm she loved in Bliss, where she enjoyed caring for her horses, raising her beloved Papillon dogs, and spending time with her family. She was a dedicated member of the Bliss Pioneer Memorial Church Board and remained involved in church communities throughout her life. Her faith in Jesus Christ guided her daily life, and she sought to reflect His love through her kindness, compassion, and service to others.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lauren Paquet; her mother, Martha Brock (Ned); her father, Jack Foust (Sam); and her sister, Dianne Paquet (Gene). Susan leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and love. The memories she created and the lives she touched will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life honoring Susan will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Bliss Township Pavilion. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us as we gather to share memories, celebrate her life, and honor the love she brought to so many.
