Susan "Sue" Marie Vogt, 63 of Lewiston, Michigan took her final trip around the sun on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Sue was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 1, 1963, to Richard and Eileen (Devitt) Vogt. She was raised in Berkley alongside her brother, Tim. As a young child, every summer was spent with her family at Little Wolf Lake in Lewiston. Those memories eventually drew Sue back to the area and she resided in Lewiston for the last 14 years. It was there that she developed countless friendships.
She found joy in serving her community as a school bus attendant and as a cafeteria worker for Lewiston Elementary School, where she was blessed to interact with and care for countless children. Her proudest role and deepest love was being a mother to her son, Kyle. Her son was the center of her world and her greatest joy. Sue never met a stranger, and she had a remarkable way of making people feel like old friends. She embraced life with an infectious spirit and a smile that could light up any room she entered. She loved music, dancing, and cheering on her favorite sports teams, and she was happiest surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter and making memories. If you knew Sue, you knew there was a good chance music was playing and she was encouraging everyone to have a good time. Sue will be remembered for her firecracker spirit, her infectious laugh, and the love she gave to everyone so willingly.
Sue is remembered by her son Kyle, brother Tim, sister-in-law Kate, nephew Daniel, special friends Angela (Aaron) Newell and their children, and countless friends that became family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Eileen Vogt.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, County Road 419 (Coordinates: 44.90619, -84.29251) at 11:00 AM.
