Teddy Krol

Teddy Krol, 82 of Gaylord, Michigan passed away on May 27th, 2026, at Munson Otsego Memorial Hospital. Born October 5th, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Stanley and Wanda Krol. His family moved to Gaylord, Michigan in 1946. He was preceded in death by his siblings Jenny Sides, Helen Miller, Chester Krol, and Edward Krol. Surviving siblings Dorothy Madsen of Oscoda, Michigan and Lorraine Krol of Romona, California, John (Susan) Krol and Robert Krol of Gaylord, Michigan.

 Ted attended Johannesburg and Gaylord schools. Ted and his sisters, Jenny and Dorothy, with three other local girls, formed a band in 1956, called "The Northern Star Lights". They played for four years locally for weddings, anniversaries and fund raisers. Ted played the trumpet and one of his favorite songs was "When the Saints Go Marching In".

 He started work in Chicago, Illinois in the concessionaire's business in the major loop hotels and McCormick Place for twenty years. Ted moved his family to Gaylord in 1979. He was hired in at Cooper Standard Automotive, Gaylord Plant, remaining there for twenty-seven years. Ted also served a term as Vice President of the 388 Local UAW. Ted built homes in Indiana and later obtained a Residential Builders License in Michigan. He took pride in his work.

 Ted enjoyed woodworking projects, hunting, camping, gardening, playing Pinochle, and especially many happy times spent with grandchildren and family. 

Surviving by his wife Nancy, of 62 years, three children; Tod Krol (Gretchen Burrus), Shannon Hord, and Kristy (Chris) Maxon. Grandchildren, Tim and Adam Hord, Jake and Luke Maxon.

 June 16, 2026, Visitation 9:00 AM, Mass 10:00 AM at St. Mary Cathedral Church in Gaylord. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery M32 East, Gaylord, Michigan.
