With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas M. Allison, 88, a dearly loved and deeply respected husband and father, whose kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched all who knew him.
He lived a long and meaningful life marked by hard work, devotion to his loved ones, and a generous heart. He found great joy in woodworking, creating with his hands and sharing his talents with others. Through every project, he showed patience, skill, and pride in a job well done. He enjoyed cars and planes in every form and was always excited to attend any event for either, including an annual visit to the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners and the Buckley Old Engine Show.
He was also dedicated to serving others through volunteering, always willing to give his time wherever help was needed. His selflessness and compassion made a lasting difference in the lives of many, serving others with organizations such as Rotary Club, Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity, RSVP (Tool Time, driving patients to appointments, Toys for Tots). He was a dedicated volunteer at the Pigeon River Discovery Center, building many displays and serving as a Docent with his wife.
Tom proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he was an integral part of the Weather Service branch, serving in both Morocco and England. His commitment to his nation instilled in him a sense of duty and responsibility that carried over into his civilian life.Following his military service, Tom enjoyed a successful career in the financial sector as a commercial banker before becoming a licensed real estate appraiser. His expertise in appraisal allowed him to assist many clients and colleagues, and he continued to impact the industry until his retirement in 2007.
Above all else, he cherished his family. He was a devoted husband and loving father, whose steady presence, guidance, and unconditional love were the foundation of his family. He shared a deep and lasting love with his wife, and together they built a life filled with love, strength, and treasured memories.
He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, whose laughter and company brought him endless happiness. He was a proud grandfather, always ready with a story, a smile, or words of encouragement. Nothing gave him more satisfaction than seeing the success of his grandchildren as they grew up.
Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was a blessing, his love a gift, and his memory a treasure.
Thomas is survived by his wife and best friend of 62 years, Sandra Lee Allison, (nee Williams), Children - Anne Allison Guy (Richard), James William Allison (Kimberly), Susan Allison Galacz (John), Grandchildren - Jacob Guy, Allison Brooks (Dylan), Samuel Allison (Katie), Benjamin Allison, Christian Allison, Timothy Allison, Daniel Allison, Margaret Galacz, Jonathan Galacz, William Galacz, and his beloved kitty cat - Ernie.
