Travis James MacKinnon

Travis James MacKinnon 36 of Port Huron formerly from Grayling, passed away in his home on Sunday December 4, 2022.

Travis was a hardworking man skilled in all areas of construction.

Born in Grayling on March 12, 1986. Travis was the son of Robert and Laura (Mackinnon) Bonenfant. Born to Sean Walsh Sr. Travis Grew up in Grayling Until moving to Port Huron in 2010.

Family was the most important thing to Travis other than his Daughter Jenika Estelle. He enjoyed and always encouraged family gatherings and was always overly excited to entertain the children. Travis would light up any room with his infections smile and helping nature, he would literally give the shirt off his back.

Family being his first love, Travis also enjoyed sports, music, fishing, nature walks with his daughter and teaching her to play disc golf. Let’s not forget the pride he took in his collection of hats and footwear.

Travis is survived by his long-time love, Jennifer Pomeroy; his daughter, Jenika MacKinnon; his mom, Laura Bonenfant; brothers, Zach (Ashley) Bonenfant, Scooter (Jennifer) Bonenfant, Sean Walsh Jr., Timothy (Mallory) Bonenfant, Jessie (Kerri) Bonenfant and Justin (Audrey) Slater; and sisters, Nicole (Scott) Bonenfant Treece and Heather (Ricky) Franks.  He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Travis was preceded in death by his father, Sean Walsh Sr; his stepfather, Robert Bonenfant, his uncle Rick Bonenfant, his nephew Johnathon Bonenfant and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service preceded by visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Luncheon to follow service at Livingston Township hall in Gaylord.
