Ursula Ann Prusakiewicz

Ursula Ann Prusakiewicz, 78 of Gaylord, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

 

Born in Grayling, Michigan on May 11, 1945, she was the daughter of Benon and Marcella (Wojciechowski) Rzepecki.   Ursula grew up in Gaylord and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.  She continued with education, receiving an associate’s of science degree in Petoskey.

 

On August 10, 1963, Ursula and Alexander Floyd Prusakiewicz were married at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gaylord.  

 

Ursula worked for many years as a manager at the former Chalet Restaurant, later retiring from the medical records department at Otsego Memorial Hospital.

 

She was a longtime member and parishioner at St. Mary Cathedral.  She enjoyed cooking and entertaining at parties for family and friends.  She also enjoyed playing cards with a local ladies card group, playing bingo, visits to casinos, and taking Wayne Wyrembelski’s Polish class at the church.

 

She is survived by Alex, her husband of almost 61 years; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Vicki Prusakiewicz of Gaylord; a grandson, Dalton Prusakiewicz of Gaylord; her grand dog, Blackie; sisters, Theresa Gwost of Lansing, Clara (Stanley) Wilhite of Flint, and Rose Woodliff of Dewitt; a brother, Joseph (Gloria) Respecki of Lapeer; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and their husbands, Sophia and Mike Ward, Carrie and James Cummings, and Joan and Tom Vlaming; a brother, James Sirmier; a brother and his wife, Frank and Josephine Respecki; and brothers-in-law, Edward Gwost and Harold Woodliff.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 2, 2024, at St. Mary Cathedral with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Compassus Hospice, Knights of Columbus, or St. Mary Cathedral.
