Venice Alma Jewel Smith

Venice Alma Smith, 85 of Gaylord, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her daughters home in Gaylord.  Born April 9, 1931 in Rockhold, KY she was the daughter of Forester and Ada (Hill) Mackey.

A homemaker, Alma was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on May 14, 2016.  Surviving are her children, Jowonna Ariaz, Venice (Mike) Breneman, Garry Smith, Pamela (Jeff) Martinez and former daughter-in-law Lauri; grandchildren  Barry, Alicha, Amanda, Candie, Ryan, Jessica, Katie, Julie, Garry Ray, Benjamin, Jeremy, Anthony and the late Lisa; great grandchildren, Hayden, Breanna, Jakob, Audrey, Caroline, Anthony, Deigo, Victoria, Melina, Tialer, David, Kimberly, Brooks, and Elena; sisters Wilma Rising and Deloris Philo; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 2-8pm with the funeral service Monday 11:30 am at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Rd., Garden City (Between Ford Rd. and Cherry Hill).  Local arrangements are by Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
