With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Myrtle Ann Vieau, who was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2025. Born in Rochester, Michigan, on May 25, 1943, Myrtle lived a life overflowing with faith, laughter, and devotion. She passed peacefully at her daughter’s home in Gaylord, surrounded by love.
Myrtle was the beloved mother of Sarah Sturm (Montgomery) of Luther, Shawna (James) VanDyke of Irons, Serena Sturm (Robert) of Gaylord, and Verna (Brian) Riebel of Westland. She was a proud and devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, many nieces and nephews whose legacy of love and faith will continue to shine through her family for generations to come. Surviving siblings Betty, Bonnie, Patricia, Charles, Bill, Yvonne, Pamela.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Caldwell loving parents George and Sarah Miller, her sister Barbara Bloomfield and bother John Caldwell, her beloved sons Brett Sturm and Clark Sturm, and first Husband Herman F. Sturm, her devoted husband Carl Vieau.
Myrtle had a song in her heart and a spirit that radiated joy. She loved to sing hymns of praise, celebrate her faith, and share the goodness of the Lord with everyone she met. She cherished her large family, loved playing any kind of game, and rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. Above all, she found peace and happiness in the beauty of northern Michigan — the place that forever held her heart. Her faith was her foundation, her comfort, and her guide through every season of life. Though she has gone home to Heaven, her voice, laughter, and unconditional love will echo forever in the hearts of those she loved.
