Walt "Stubbs" Moore

Walter Vernon "Stubbs" Moore, 50 of Gaylord, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He is remembered as a devoted father, Cammy’s soulmate, loved son, and a loyal friend, who faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience and an unwavering spirit.

Walt was born on October 24, 1975, in Trenton, Michigan. A graduate of Calvary Baptist in 1993, Walt was deeply engaged with the community and attended Gaylord E-Free Church for many years. He was known for his readiness to assist friends with projects, offering help with tasks like plowing, or simply lending a listening ear when needed.

Walt spent much of his life disabled, yet he found joy and purpose in his career in marketing, particularly with the Black Bear Golf Course in Vanderbilt. His passion for his work was only rivaled by his love for his four children, whom he adored and was actively involved in their lives. His dedication to building a foundation of Christ's love for his children is one of his proudest accomplishments, alongside his wife, Cammy.

Walt had a variety of interests, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and working on cars-sometimes out of necessity. His social spirit shined through in his love for playing cards with his friends and watching races at local speedways.

Walt's life, though marked by challenges, was one of love and dedication. He leaves behind memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. He is finally at peace, with Jesus, a comfort to all who mourn his passing.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cammy; four children, Kole, Jackson, Hannah and Josie; parents, Walter and Patricia Moore; sister, Sherry (David) Goheen; father and mothers in-law, Deborah Ulrich, Tom (Lisa) Ulrich; brothers and sisters in-law, Derek Ulrich, Rachel Ulrich, Lacie Ulrich, Justin (Bethany) Ulrich; nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn (Dustin) Owens, Aaron (Brooklyn) Goheen, Kellen, Beckham and Elle Ulrich; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and Walts very dear friend - His partner in crime, John Sumner.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter (Florence) Moore, Orville (Agnes) Davis; aunts, Marilyn Gibson, Sally “Bunny” Swaim; uncles, Mike Moore and Arthur Trangmar.

The family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Gaylord E-Free Church, where the memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM.
