Bill graduated from Pellston High School in 1957 and enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country as a Radioman Third Class Petty Officer from 1958 to 1962. Upon completion of Naval service, Bill worked as a telephone repairman in Northern Michigan for 35 years. He also committed his time to his community with 45 years of service on the Carp Lake Fire Department and First Responders team and also volunteered as Conservation officer for 30 years.
