William D. Urquhart

William D. Urquhart, 80 of Lewiston, gained his wings peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, Christine and four children, Billy, Brian, Rachel and Danny, on July 17, 2023.

William and Christine were joined in marriage on May 14, 1966. They celebrated 57 years together.

William came from a small family and when he met Christine it was written in the stars for them to have a large family.

William led a busy life. He started his career working for Toledo Scale as a technician and worked on scales of different sizes from meat scales in the deli, to semi-truck scales.

During Bill’s downtime from work, he loved to do different things. Golf was a favorite hobby. He also built RC cars and planes and loved wood crafting. Bill loved sailing his 2-seater sailboat with his shipmate, Christine. He also loved weekend camping trips with his family. He was a master at making a campfire, and teaching his children how to fish and make s’mores.

William is survived by his wife, Christine; their four children, Billy (Renee), Brian (Stacey), Rachel and Danny; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his loving mother, Charlotte and his father, William.

He will forever be remembered and cherished as the man who always had a plan, a loving husband, father, and awesome Papa.
