Carmen James Auriemma

Carmen James Auriemma, 72 of Gaylord, passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Born on November 23, 1948 in Chicago, IL., he was the son of Carmen and Louise (Mirabella) Auriemma.

Carmen was raised in a small community in Hometown, Illinois. At the young age of 13, he began playing guitar and was a lifelong musician. He thoroughly enjoyed playing music and traveled all over the United States for many years performing. On June 30, 1984, Carmen was united in marriage to Julie Savina in Gaylord and they created a wonderful life together. His greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Rachel.  He worked as a pipeline manager for Eastport Group until he retired, and was an active member at the Mount Hope Church in Gaylord.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; his daughter, Rachel; his brother, Leonard (Cathy) Auriemma of Holt, MI; his cousins, Sharon (Doug) Wilson of Minneola, FL and Sondra Milovich of Cedar Park, TX, his mother-in-law, Beverly Savina of Rogers City, MI; many nieces and nephews, and his special dog, Jackie O.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Auriemma.

A memorial service celebrating Carmen’s life will take place 2:00 PM Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Mount Hope Church where visitation will take place beginning at 1:00 PM until the time of services.
