Elzory C. “Lucky” Williams, 85 of Gaylord, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
Born in Central City, KY on August 23, 1934, he was the son of Walter and Pearl (Nelson) Williams. In addition to his many years in Gaylord, he had also lived in Akron, Ohio.
Lucky served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Kaskaskia. He was a master electrician working for many years as a member of IBEW #498. After moving to Gaylord, he worked for Swan Electric and also had his own business for a time, Lucky’s Electric. He also worked as a cook at the former Fireside Inn. Lucky was a founding member of the Otsego County Ambulance Corps and was an EMT Specialist. He was an avid Harley Davidson man and a member of the Whispering Wheels Motorcycle Club in Akron.
Lucky was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Ann Williams on May 27, 2015. Surviving are his children, Margaret O’Rourke of Gaylord and Timothy (Joyce) Williams of Johannesburg; grandchildren, David (Alicia) Boyden, Walter (Brandi) Boyden IV and Melissa Boyden; great grandchildren, Levi, Abigail, Walter V, Emma, Skylar, Bradyn and Jacob; a sister, Frances (Lee) Jacobs; brothers, Walter (Rita) Williams, Doug Williams and Bobby (Sue) Williams; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Shelby Nelson and Sonny (Doris) Williams.
In keeping with his wishes, Lucky’s family will remember him privately. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Lucky’s family.
