Born on October 3, 1963 in Lincoln, Nebraska, Fred was the son of William F. and Margaret J. (Lichty) Hershey. After his dad retired from the U.S. Air Force, the family moved to Indian River where he later graduated from Inland Lakes High School.

In his spare time, Fred enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and University of Nebraska football. He had a true passion for Lambeau Field and Green Bay Packer memorabilia.
Fred is survived by brothers, David (Sherry) Hershey of Pocatello, Idaho and Daniel Hershey of Vanderbilt; a step son, Mike Maves of Wolverine, his extended family and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step son, Steven Maves.
In keeping with his wishes, Fred’s family and friends will celebrate his life at a gathering this spring or summer. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or McLaren Hospice, Hiland Cottage.
