James H. "Jim" Richardson

James H. "Jim" Richardson, 35 of Carrboro, NC and formerly of Gaylord, passed away unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm November 3, 2019. He was born September 12, 1984 in Gaylord. He graduated from Gaylord High School in 2003. He attended Washtenaw Community College and then moved to Carrboro, NC.

Jim was a unique, one of a kind man. He had a heart of gold and lived life to the fullest. He was a gifted musician and a devoted friend. He had a heart for geriatrics and special needs people, which he previously worked with. He enjoyed creating music, golfing, sports, nature, exploring life and spending time with his friends. Jim loved his current job at Uncommon Gardens and The Kraken in Chapel Hill, NC.

He has left behind by his parents, Mike and Kim Richardson of Gaylord; his brother, John Richardson and (Diane) Jonasson of Gaylord; paternal grandfather, Cliff (Pat) Richardson of Port Huron; many aunts, uncles, cousins; his girlfriend, Erika Grace; and his lifelong extended family (friends).

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, June Richardson and maternal grandparents, Virgil and Boots Lyman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Gaylord E-Free Church where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Pastor Newell Cerak will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Otsego Community Foundation where a fund has been set up in Memory of Jim. Checks payable to: Otsego Community Foundation. Memo line: James H. Richardson Memorial Fund; or the family asks to do Random Acts of Kindness.
