She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Dorothy Butka and Beatrice (Robert) Butka; her brothers, Robert (Lois) Butka, Richard Butka and Anthony Butka and great nephew, Matthew.

Raised in Gaylord, Margie graduated from Gaylord High School. Throughout the years she worked at Albies, Mayfair Plastics, and while waitressing at the Sugar Bowl she enjoyed seeing friends and family walk through the doors. She loved doing crossword puzzles and word searches, watching TV shows, making cookies for the guys at deer camp, and she undoubtedly made the best zucchini bread. She proudly made all of her great nieces and great nephews a quilt when they were born. Having had a heart of gold, she always enjoyed helping out by giving out donuts after mass, doing her sister’s laundry, baking, raking, and so much more. She would always read the Gaylord Herald Times and would relay the information to her sisters. For several years she was an active member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Mary Cathedral. She was an avid weekly walker at the Sportsplex with Darlene. Most recently, she looked forward to Mondays when she and Karen Borowiak would drive to Midland to watch her great-great nephews. She never wanted to miss a family event and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them.

Margie’s family will visit with friends beginning at 9:30 AM Monday, September 14, 2020 at St. Mary Cathedral where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Mary Cathedral.
