Nicholas J. Micoff, 41 of Petoskey, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at
Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.
Born in Petoskey on February 4, 1979, Nick was the son of Dennis Lee and Lois Jean (Bonnett) Micoff. Nick grew up in Ingram, Texas and Indian River and graduated from Inland Lakes High School in 1997.
He worked for many years at Boyne Highlands where he developed many friendships with both fellow employees and with guests. More recently, he had worked with his step father and his brother in underground utilities construction with Northern Utilities.
Nick had a kind heart and a helping personality. He will be remembered by his family and many friends as a man who found joy in seeing people happy.
Nick is survived by his parents, Lois Jean (Donald) Blake of Wolverine and Dennis Lee (Julie) Micoff of Indian River; a sister, Natasha (Jason) Bailey of Harbor Springs; a brother, Dennis (Adrienne) Micoff of Wolverine; step sisters, Amanda (Jon) Tanner of Flint, and Sarah (Chase) Blake of Columbus, OH; step brothers, Jon Micoff of Indian River, DJ (Laura) Blake of Macomb County, and Jeremy (Melissa) Blake of Holland; nieces, Grace, Olivia, Arya, Evie, Emmy and Pearl; nephews, Jacob, Axel, Connor, Mason and Gibson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Wolverine Free Methodist Church where the family will visit with friends beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the spring at Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine. There will also be a celebration of Nick’s life at Boyne Highlands later and arrangements will follow soon.
