Virginia A. Kassuba, 93 of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Medilodge of Gaylord. Born on June 9, 1926 in New Boston, MI., she was the daughter of Frank and Antonia Klauza.

In 1976 Louis and Virginia moved from Flat Rock back to Gaylord. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Mary Cathedral where she was involved with the Altar Rosary Society, a Eucharistic minister and taught catechism.  Her pride and joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and was an excellent cook.  Virginia enjoyed playing pinochle, visiting family and friends, as well as playing host to gatherings at their Kassuba Lake home.

Virginia is survived by a daughter, Sandra Barrons of Trenton; sons Louis Kassuba Jr. of Clare, Gerald Kassuba of Newport and George (Beth) Kassuba of Johannesburg; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis in 2013; her parents; 10 brothers and sisters; two daughter-in-laws, Judy and Donna and a son-in-law, Ronald Barrons.

Visitation will take place from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 where the St. Mary Altar Rosary Society will pray the Rosary at 6:00 PM at Gaylord Community Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at St. Mary Cathedral where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Mary Cathedral.
